Them are some pretty sweet rides! Little to expensive for my taste though. Ya Epic i have the same problem when my car goes in the shop. I usually bum rides off my dad to get to school and then either have my girlfriend or another friend take me home after school. Still it sucks cause it takes away that independence of being able to drive yourself to and from school.

Default Corolla Update....

Seems this salesman just didn't get it. So I called on my Brother (The Car Salesman) to broker the deal. He ended up talking with the Sales Manager. I am getting an Invoice Deal. That means not very much over cost...enough for them to make some money and for me too save allot.

I ended up Ordering a New one from the Assembily Plant in California. Will take till the end of March. However, I will get what I want. The Moonroof, Traction Control, Vehicle Stability Control, Anti-Lock Brakes w/Assist, Side Air Bags, JBL 8 Speaker system, and WHITE like Mrs Dood wants. It will be a sharp looking little Buzz Bomb that gets close to 40 mpg.

What year? Mid 1990's? I would be concered on getting parts. My brother always tries to sell me Mercedes that are older. No matter how well built they are they are OLDER. Things will break down.

That would be my concern...is the fact they do not make those Hondas any more. An older Camry or Corolla is different...still it would be older.

Yes i realized that problem as well but all the reviews i read were stating how durable this car was. They said as long as a part was neglected or abused that it wouldnt break. But yes that is one of my concerns is having to special order parts that have been discontiuned.

Well buy a CarFax subscription for a month. You get unlimited searches and I think it cost around $20.00

$20.00....Peace of Mind. I used that service when I bought my Park Avenue. We were looking at a Caddy STS and the Park Ave at a Cadillac dealership. The CarFax showed me some repairs to the STS that shocked me. Like tie-rods that were replaced...and the Bose sound system was blown at one time. Someone ran the hell out of that STS...where as the Park Avenue was owned by an older couple and it had no major damage....saved me a big headache since Mrs Dood really wanted that STS.

Make your GF cough up the $20.00!

My wife has a KIA. Never. Ever. Again. It's been slightly more reliable than a mid 80's Camaro. It's that bad.

Someday the KIA might become a decent brand....just not today. My Corolla is ordered...I should see it around the end of March. Can't wait...I just filled up my ageing Lesabre this morning at $2.01/gallon...then when I came home this afternoon...gas was up to $2.39/gallon. What a Crock!

Really annoys me that the Car I ended up having to order from the Factory is not on the lot. The options I ordered would sell like hot cakes....they tell me they don;t sell optioned out like that. That tells me people just buy what is on the lot...not that they don't want those options. Like Traction Control, Vehicle Stability Control, JBL Sound System....yeah right.

It's not being mean....it is teaching her to stand up for herself...be responsible. Plus if you always do that stuff for your companion...then they will always expect it.

It is her car...let her "learn" how to purchase it.

Don't worry about parts for any honda of the 90s. Really, if she keeps up good maintenance she will have very few problems.

Also, I have good experience with the cost of parts on that time period hondas. It is not as much as you'd think. Since 90s hondas are common, there are still 3rd parties that make the stock parts which mechanics can order. And they aren't too expensive as I have learned with my recent car accident. (grrrr... I'm still upset over that. I wish I had some control over how that happened)

*whispers quietly* its been over 2 weeks and i havent had a problem with my car!, shhhh keep that quiet i dont want to jinx it....

Anyways i have always had good success with hondas of any type of vehicle. The first riding lawn mower we got was a late 80's honda. We've had it ever since 92 i do believe, and its been running fine. Few fixs taht we had to make on it but they were simple. The Honda civic my girlfriends sister has, hasnt had any problems that her sister didnt cause(aka wrecks). So i hold honda in high regard.

I like their Lawnmowers...they are good ones..expensive..but good ones.

As for their cars...I am not sold on them. They are better built then the little American ones...but the Toyota's are supreme in that class.
